Sure, there'll be small-scale fights here and there in the game, but it looks like the most challenging parts of Arc Raiders will revolve around these hulking machines. This is a giant cannon that requires two or three of your squad to operate sure, it'll hit your mobility and slow you down, but it's a powerful old thing that, no doubt, can punch a hole in enemy lines.ĭuring the debut trailer for the game, we see a giant, multi-legged mechanical creature drop onto the battlefield as a radar ping suggests something even bigger may be on the horizon, too. What piques our interestm, though, are the less conventional arms – like the Howitzer. But there will be more announced in time. As well as pumping them full of lead, you can use jump pads to get up close and personal, pin them down with the Snap Hook, and shoot or melee at weak points to dismember them – Dead Space style. The bigger enemies in particular seem like they will require the most co-operation from players in order to take them down, along with on-the-fly strategies, and utilization of the game's environments and physics. To overcome these threats, ARC Raiders is emphasizing the usage of teamwork and tactics to succeed. One of these includes bigger drones that can rain fire on unsuspecting players on the battlefield, with another being a giant crab-like mecha. The threats in ARC Raiders, however, will seem to grow in size and strength, as these enemies start scaling up and fighting back. These enemies start off small, with drone-like enemies that players can shoot down with various weapons, with one fighter showing off a grappling hook that can be used to bring these drones down and finish off with a stomp.
